Promenade des Anglais was built in 1820 by the Englishman, Lewis Way to enjoy seaside walks. This much photographed promenade is a famous landmark and one to be enjoyed. Today the promenade is the scene of rollerbladers, joggers and strollers. You can take a leisurely walk through the 19th century Jardin Albertler or you may visit the grand Hotel Negresco, the famous site on the promenade and see the elegant Salon Louis X1V and Salon Royale.
